Terms of Service
By using spotmp3 you agree to the terms below. If you do not agree, do not use the service. These terms explain what the tool does and how the free allowance works. They also explain prohibited uses and the limits of our promises.
Last updated 2026-08-18
The short version: personal use only, one visitor’s share of a free service, and no guarantee that any particular track can be found.
1. What the service is
spotmp3 is a browser tool. You paste a public link. The tool reads its public metadata and searches public sources for matching audio. It then gives you an MP3 with the title, artist, album and cover art in the file. No library is published here. There is no catalogue and no page for a recording. A file exists on the server only because somebody asked for it. A job folder is deleted twenty-four hours after the job ends. The finished audio may remain in a shared cache keyed by the recording, not by you. The privacy policy sets out every retention period. There is no account, no login, and nothing is ever connected to your Spotify account. spotmp3 is an independent third-party tool: it is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Spotify AB. “Spotify” is a trademark of its owner and appears on this site descriptively, to say which kind of link the box accepts, and for no other purpose.
2. Free use, supporter use and rate limits
Downloading is free within a daily allowance of tracks per visitor, counted when a job is accepted. Free use is served one track at a time: a job holds one, and the next may be started once it has finished. A one-off purchase unlocks submitting a whole list in one job and exemption from the daily allowance, and offers a finished batch as a single archive; it does not expire, and it does not change the audio files produced. Rate limits also apply. They control how many jobs may run for you and how quickly you may start new ones. These limits keep one visitor from taking the whole queue. Their form may change without notice. The current server setting reflects what the service can carry that day; it is not a permanent commitment. Figures elsewhere on this site are current only on the date shown above. What is recorded in order to count your usage, and how long it is kept, is set out in the privacy policy.
3. Acceptable use
- Personal, non-commercial use only — private listening or a personal backup, where the law where you live allows it.
- No redistribution. Do not re-upload, sell, bundle, stream or publicly perform what you download, and do not pass it on in bulk to anyone else.
- No automation. Scripted clients, headless browsers, crawlers and anything else that drives the site without a person in front of it are not permitted, and neither is calling the internal API from your own front end or reselling the service as your own.
- No circumventing the quota — rotating addresses, proxy pools, private browsing loops or any other way of presenting yourself as several visitors is a breach of these terms in itself, whatever the downloads are for.
- Do not probe, load-test, overload or otherwise interfere with the service or the infrastructure behind it.
- Do not use the service where doing so breaks the law where you are, or a contract you have accepted, including Spotify’s own terms.
4. Your responsibility for the copy you make
Copyright rules differ across borders. A private copy that is lawful in one country may infringe rights in another. Some places focus on how you use the file. Others focus on its source. A few allow a personal copy only from a source you already lawfully hold. Deciding whether you are entitled to make a particular copy is your responsibility, not this site’s. The tool cannot know which recordings you already own, what licence you hold, or what the private-copying rules are where you are sitting. Nothing on this page is legal advice. If you are unsure, assume that you need permission.
5. No warranty, limited liability
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Two disclaimers matter more than the rest. Availability is not warranted. The service may be slow, degraded or down, with or without notice. This site promises no uptime figure. It also does not promise that any particular track is obtainable. Audio is matched against public sources, not taken from Spotify. Some recordings have no usable public source. Regional limits, source removals, alternate edits and bad tags can make a track fail for reasons we do not control. Output quality has the same limit. Files are encoded at 320 kbps, but the public source sets the real quality. A 320 kbps container cannot add detail that was absent from the source. To the maximum extent permitted by law, no liability is accepted for any loss or damage arising from use of the service, including lost files, lost time or any consequence of a download that failed or matched the wrong recording. Where local law does not allow such an exclusion, liability is limited to the smallest amount that law permits.
6. Takedowns, suspension and termination
Complaints about specific content are handled under the copyright policy and the takedown policy, which set out what a notice has to contain and how quickly it is answered. Access to the service may be suspended or terminated at any time, without notice, for a breach of these terms — quota circumvention, automated access, redistribution at scale, attempts to overload the service, or repeated valid infringement notices naming the same user. Because there is no account, termination is technical rather than contractual: any block is applied at the network edge, and there is nothing to close, cancel or log out of.
7. Changes to these terms and severability
These terms may be revised. When they are, the revision date at the top of this page changes too. There is no account and no mailing list. The date is the only notice, so check it if the wording matters to you. Continuing to use the service after a revision means you accept the revised text. If a change is one you do not accept, stop using the service; there is nothing to cancel, and nothing is retained beyond what the privacy policy describes. If any part of these terms is held unenforceable, that part is severed and the rest continues to apply. Questions about these terms — as opposed to copyright notices, which have their own address on the copyright page — can go to support@spotmp3.net.
